Abstract：The article introduces the based process of international welding personnel training and qualification system of International Institute of Welding (IIW). There are 37 countries in the system at present, including America, Germany, Japan and China etc. The members implement international harmonized training guidelines and examination standard and candidates could be awarded diplomas that widely recognized at the worldwide after the examination. On the base of this, the paper introduces the seven kinds of training guideline including International Welding Engineer (IWE), International Welding Technologist (IWT), International Welding Inspection Personnel (IWIP) International Welded Structures Designer (IWSD) International Welding Specialist (IWS) International Welding Practitioner (IWP) and International Welder (IW). It includes access conditions, training guideline and requirements for examination etc. Besides, it also briefly refers to the development trends of international welding training system and guidelines in the future.
